Tae-young went to Paris to study filmmaking and works parttime as a housekeeper in a rich man's house. She never gets to see him but she always leaves messages before she goes home. While looking out for her friend's stuff, Ki-joo accidentally ran over it. Tae-young demanded payments for the damages. They went by to his house to get money and to her surprise, it turned out that Ki-joo is the owner of the house she is working at.

Soo-hyuk, Ki-joo's nephew, fell in love with Tae-young from the first time he met her at the park. He gets to see her more often since she works for his uncle.

Ki-joo didn't like the way Tae-young meddles with his business. She got fired and went back home to Korea. She got more disappointed when she found out that her uncle sold their house and her father's camera. As much as she wanted to get it back, she doesn't have enough money. Ki-joo, who just got back from Paris, came to the rescue and secretly bought it back for Tae-young.

Due to a secret involving his dad, Ki-joo needs to wed Yooh-ah against his will. He asked Tae-young to pretend that they are dating. Even so, his dad and Yoon-ah's are determined to push through with the wedding.

Soo-hyuk got heartbroken when he figured out that Ki-joo is dating Tae-young. He was so upset at his uncle. He thought that he always gets all the attention including his mom's and Tae-young's. He wanted to have what Ki-joo has.

Soo-hyuk changed his image and started to act like his uncle. He asked for a job at their family business to design cars. Envious of Ki-joo's success, he leaked their project to the rival company which caused stockholders and investors to pull out from their account. Ki-joo and the company is now facing a financial dilemma.

The gap between Ki-joo and Soo-hyuk became worst when Soo-hyuk found out that they are brothers. His mother got pregnant when she was young. Trying to live up to their family's reputation, his grandfather claimed Ki-joo to be his son. This is the reason why Ki-joo is forced to marry Yoon-ah. The family is worried that the scandal would be out in the open. Even though Ki-joo has no idea about this, Soo-hyuk is devastated to think that they favored Ki-joo to have a much better life out of lies.

Yoon-ah tries to break up Tae-young and Ki-joo. She told Tae-young to back off or she'll expose the family secret. Tae-young can't seem to bear see Ki-joo face more conflicts so she broke up with him. She loves Ki-joo so much that's why she sacrificed her own happiness.

Wanting to straighten up things between him and his uncle, Soo-hyuk told Ki-joo the truth about his involvement in the design leakage and their relationship as brothers. Ki-joo was overwhelmed but he was able to hang on. He fixed their business problems and settled things out with his mom whom he thought was her sister. After some adjustments, everything turned out okay in favor of Ki-joo.

Soo-hyuk felt guilty and upset. While driving recklessly, he had a car accident. He was in a coma for several days and when he woke up, he pretended to have amnesia. He made them believe that he doesn't remember everything that happened with regards to Ki-joo and Tae-young. They bought his act and was able to pull it off without them suspecting. After recovering, he went away far from Tae-young so he could forget about his feelings.

Ki-joo and Tae-young got back together. They are not afraid to be in a relationship anymore after all that have happened. But Tae-young decided to go back to Paris to continue what she already started. They are hoping that destiny would bring them back together sometime.

After several years, Ki-joo went to Paris to look for Tae-young. Fate really is on their side. He found her, ironically, at the same place where he first met her formally.


I expected so much from this series. I heard a lot of good things on why people went overboard with this drama. It even earned second spot for the mostly viewed in 2004. But for me, it just started as a simple representation of a sassy high spirited woman in love with a rich and famous businessman. Nothing too fancy about it. But as the story unfolds, it became more interesting. Now I know why people got hooked. It's a good thing the first episodes are not that boring or else, viewers could have missed one good drama.

What's so great about this is how the love story was established. The strategy is to make people hook in the love angle. The way the main characters were able to overcome the predicaments that comes along with their decisions is the fomula for the success of the show.

But in fairness, its not too dragging. In every episode, there's something new, a lot of revelations. But most of the times, I kinda know where the story is going. I'm kind of spoiling it for myself. Almost all of my speculations are true.

Actually, there is one side of the story that I liked better compared to the other series I've already watched. It was the decision of Tae-young to go back to Paris and be apart from Ki-joo that made the ending very powerful. Stories doesn't have to have a smooth happy ending. Reality is still a key in leaving a great statment. But when they showed the "real" ending, everything got so complicated. A lot of people were disappointed to see alternate endings at the same time. It seems weird and even though there are a lot to choose from, none made an impact.



“Lovers in Paris” Hits Highest Viewing Rate of 51.5 Percent

The Seoul Broadcasting System’s (SBS) popular TV drama “Lovers in Paris,” which airs at 9:45 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, hit a record high on August 8, leaving two more episodes before concluding on August 15.

On August 8, the TV drama broke an existing viewing record with 51.5 percent, according to TNS media Korea, a research company. “Lovers in Paris,” which had a 50 percent viewing rate on July 25, lost a big portion of their viewers on July 31 and August 1, respectively, showing subsequent viewing rates of 37.6 percent and 39.2 percent. However, it rebounded back to its previous level last Sunday.

The enormous popularity of “Lovers in Paris” continued with other entertaining programs on August 8. The SBS’s variety show program, “I Love Sunday,” featuring all the stars of the drama, hit the highest viewing rate with 18.1 percent on August 8 since its first airing on March 28. The program usually has around an eight percent viewing rate, but its rate increased by 10 percent on that day.

I have learned two things from Tae-young Kang. One is about how to love and the other is about how to part with someone you love. But I am not smart enough to remember both. I only remember the first one. If I get to see you again, I will only learn about how to love not anyone else but how to love Tae-young.

Tired of getting involved with blind dates set up by her mom, Jin-heon asked Sam-soon to pretend that they are dating. She agreed since she owes him money to pay back for the house her dad sold. Their personalities didn't jive at first and always end up fighting. But what she doesn't know is that his being stiff and serious about everything is just a coverup of a painful past.

Hee-jin, Jin-heon's ex girlfriend, came back after 3 years of stay in America. She tried to persuade him into talking to her so she could explain her sudden leaving. Regardless how hard he tries to avoid Hee-jin, she didn't give up until everything is settled. She still loves him despite of how their relationship turned out.

Sam-soon defenselessly starts to fall in love with Jin-heon. She is threatened that he'll go back to Hee-jin so she admitted that she likes him. But after knowing the truth on Hee-jin's reasons, Jin-heon accepted her and made up.

Hee-jin has Advance Gastric Cancer. She didn't tell Jin-heon because he just got involved in a car accident that killed his brother and sister in law. She doesn't want to put him in a more painful situation. It was Jin-heon's mom who pushed Hee-jin away to get the operation and promised that she could go back as soon as she gets better. Now that she is back on track, Jin-heon's mom didn't accept her because she is unhealthy. She tried to get Sam-soon back to get rid of Hee-jin.

Jin-heon misses Sam-soon. He got jealous when Hyun-woo would like to get back with her. Before he knows it, he already likes her. He attraction towards Sam-soon. She confided her problems with Henry, her doctor, who is in love-jin witnessed the sudden change on Jin-heon'se with her. Supported enough, Henry was able to help her get through the heartache.

When Hee-jin and Henry is about to return to America, she asked for Jin-heon if he could send her off for the last time. He went to America leaving Sam-soon a promise that he would come back for her. After months of waiting, Sam-soon gave up on his promise and started a new life without him. She built her own online bakeshop. It didn't start up well but it eventually picked up. She also started to date other men.

Jin-heon came back thinking that Sam-soon would be ecstatic to see him. To his surprise, she got mad instead. She thought that he never tried to communicate and left her hanging. Jin-heon claimed he did send out letters but got rerouted. Sam-soon was convinced and accepted him back to her life.

Everything worked out well between Sam-Soon and Jin-heon. Their love was able to conquer all the complications they went through. Even if upto the end, Jin-heon's mom doesn't approve their relationship, they proudly stayed together. Hee-jin continued her studies and a special relationship with Henry.

No matter how hard it is to be in love, in the end, it would always give you the reason to live.




KOREANCRAZEE Now I understand why this series was a hit. Aside from having Kim Seon-Ah on board, it has a promising storyline.

I like the way each characters spice up the story. They have different contributions to the entirety of the show. It's like all the characters are essential. The connection between them and to the story is pretty much evident that made it more interesting to watch. Not a single moment did I get bored. Everything seems to be in the right place.

I also like Sam-soon's thoughts about life and love. Everything she believes in are sensible and realistic. Her personality is very mature. She could sometimes be dense about her decisions, but she gets to be wiser and stronger learning from those experiences. Actually, Sam-soon's life wasn't a complete waste as she thought it was. Personally, I think it's very challenging and colorful. I don't mind being hurt as long as I'll end up happier when the right time comes. And besides, who would regret it if, in the end, you'll win the heart of the man you've wished for.

It's a tricky story. It actually played my mind upto the end. You won't be able to draw an ending just based on the scenes you are watching. After every episode, my mind changes to who gets who. Well, what can I say, everybody has their own reasons to love. Only fate knows.

Seon-Ah really deserves to be the comedy queen. She could deliver humour without overacting. What's more amazing is how sincere she portrayed her character. She is very convincing.

JOE I was very impressed with the show! And I've made a list of why I think it's so many peoples favorite:
1. It's not depressing through EVERY episode like some other dramas. *COUGHwintersonataCOUGH* (Kidding, I love that show. =P) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that this drama does a really great job of combining humor with drama.
2. The storyline is really believable. Sam-Soon is in a real situation that doesn't play to be made up.
3. The soundtrack is really catchy. It even has some Yiruma. 8)
4. It's a great love triangle (as they call it). Kinda unpredictable sometimes.

However, with the series over, the nation's leading TV network is facing the problem of filling the void. Although our new drama `Our Attitude in Facing Parting' will succeed `My Lovely Samsoon, we do not expect it will do a lot for viewer ratings, said an official from MBC, who asked to remain anonymous. `My Lovely Samsoon was just so unusually popular'. SBS upcoming romantic comedy drama `Princess LuLu' is also part of MBC's worries. Its producer Sohn Jeong-hyun directed last year's major summer hit `Paris Lovers', which had more than 50 percent in viewer ratings. As the drama also stars Kim Jung-eun, a heroine of `Paris Lovers', it is naturally attracting enormous press even before the beginning of the drama.

This year's biggest hit TV drama, `My Lovely Samsoon, came to an end Thursday, surpassing 50 percent of the total viewer ratings. According to TNS Media Korea, the last episode of the MBC drama recorded a 50.5 percent viewer rating on a national basis. It reached 53.4 percent in metropolitan areas. There have only been five drama series with viewer ratings above 50 percent since 2000. Since the show's first episode on June 1, the drama series sparked 'Sam-soon syndrome'. At the core of the syndrome are Korean women who identify themselves with 30-year-old pastry chef Sam-soon, who is overweight, single and has nothing to boast of, but is confident and outspoken in Korea's appearance-oriented society. Skillful performances by actors Kim Seon-ah and Hyeon-bin drew attention and the drama gave birth to new stars like Daniel Henney and Jeong Ryeo-won.

Kim Seon-ah Gains Weight to Win Hearts

Kim Seon-ah, 30, who plays the lead in MBC drama hit "My name is Kim Sam-soon", which regularly attracts viewer ratings around 40 percent, is on the verge of fainting on the shoot for the last episode in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. Having slept only an hour a day for three straight weeks to meet the tight shooting schedule, she had to be taken to hospital three times. Around midway through the show, someone suggested a plot line where Sam-soon loses weight as she falls in love. But Kim dug in her heels in discussion with Producer Kim Yoon-cheol. If Sam-soon gets pretty after losing weight, she's not Sam-soon any more. And who would lose weight as fast that even if they fall in love? Kim appears to concur with press hype that has described the character as chubby and emphasized how unglamorous Sam-soon looks. "If I looked beautiful on TV, would viewers sympathize with me as much? I've actually been worried acting in the drama like this. It was not pleasant for me as an actress. But I regard the fat around my stomach as a means to express the inner state of Sam-soon." She describes the secret of the soap's success in one word, "sympathy". Since many viewers identify with Sam-soon, they try to catch every single line and gesture. So when Sam-soon has problems in her relationship with Sam-sik, the fans go nuts. Asked if it is realistic for a character like Sam-soon to find love with a glamorous man like Jin-heon, she holds her breath for a moment. "If they share something, they could love each other. Though Sam-soon comes from a different background to Jin-heon, the story shows the simple truth that nothing can stop real love." Asked how the drama will end, she rolls her eyes. "No way. I got the shooting script the day before yesterday, and I can't tell. Never, ever. It's top secret." She gained about 8 kgs.

There once was a time where in this world I was the main character. It felt as if I was walking on clouds. My heart always pounding. That feeling was good. As if our love filled up to the skies. One man came who gave me that happiness but like that he left. The reason why I'm crying right now isn't because I lost him. Love - the thing that once was burning now - lost and gone was unbelievable.

On a day like this, if a guy left the girl, the games over. Next time don't reason them why. Just hit and run. In life there's all kinds of men but men are men. The same with women.

MANAGER: So, all the chocolates you've made so far, have all of them been good?
SAM-SOON: No, there were good ones and there were bad ones. However, there's nothing we can do about it. That case is mine and all the chocolate in it I had to eat anyway. At the end, people will see everything their way. People define it the way they want and act however they want. So you never find out what the other person is like. When a male and female start liking each other, these types of hormones come out. And when they start loving each other, a new set of hormones appear. This set is the most important but it also makes a person go crazy in love. With the next step, the male and female want to go further into their relationship, so they go to either sex or marriage. Then these hormones come out. It also comes out when a mother nurtures a baby. It's like saying love of a female is the same for everyone. The funnier thing is, this other hormone makes people in love blind. All the hormones I just mentioned usually fade away in two years. I don't know if the hormones are dried up but I only see your weak points. I have never taken love easily. When I start, I contemplate whether I should start and when it ends, I do the same. Even if the hormones full or empty, I made an effort to do it truthfully.

[ SAM-SOON'S THOUGHTS ]
One day, the body asked the heart. When I'm hurt the doctor heals it but if you're hurt then who will heal you? Then the heart said, I have to heal by myself. Is it because of that whenever someone is hurt, they have their own special way of healing it? Drinking, singing, releasing anger, laughing, crying, going to trips with friends and talking with them, and running in the marathon... or the worst thing, just ignoring that pain. My way of healing is by making cake and cookies in the morning like right now. Even when my father suddenly passed away, even when a passionate relationship came to an end, I come to the kitchen to cook cake and I was healed from the smell of the baked cake. Can there be another treatment as sweet as this one?

JIN-HEON: Why did you cry? You still like Min Hyun-woo?
SAM-SOON: Cause it felt terrible. People change, their hearts change. And the love is changed. To think that the kind of love I fantasized about doesn't exist that made me feel terrible.

I figured the clouds were beneath me when I reached the peak, I felt like I was standing on the clouds as I went steeper. Then I promised myself 'It's ok now, let's stop here' - all the self-condemness and the complaining. I was really determined to wait until Hee-jin returns so she wouldn't see me at my weakest point.

In search of lost time, Madeline appears in the book. The owner dips the Madeline into the red tea and eats it while reminiscing the past. So the owner takes this Madeline and describes it as very rounded with inertia, has compaction. My French teacher told me, other than this Madeline, there is Chausson who waited until a lot of cookies appeared in the book. But, Henry, those two people, seems like the owner in the book searching for his lost time, right?

[ SAM-SOON'S IMAGINATION ]
I'm so frustrated! I thought I wouldn't cry over a man again. I thought that after I turn 30, it wouldn't be like this anymore. I wouldn't feel my heart beating. And there wouldn't be times when I'm waiting all night for a phone call. Do you know how tiring that is? I just want to find a guy who likes me. And one who wouldn't hurt my heart. Just live normal lives together. But look what's happened now. It's making me so disappointed. I've been through so much already. I still fell for a guy. I feel so disappointed with myself, so disappointed. Wouldn't it be great if my heart could be a bit stronger, right dad?

I've come back safe and sound, mother. I just wanted to send my friend back, but while I was there I thought a lot. I'm nearly hitting 30 and should get married. I thought of how to make Sam Soon happy. And also that mother you're getting old as well and how will I take care of you. I've even changed a lot of hotels while I was there, but then I finally settled down in one. It was like trying to make food with the ingredients, so in order to know I had to go over them. The money that I've earned from the restaurant, I've already used it all up but I didn't want to lose this chance of really learning something. I also went to visit some friends there. I also went traveling on my own, as it will be my last time. I knew how important the people beside me were. I was afraid to hear Sam Soon's voice as that would make my heart go weak and I'll end up coming back straight away. So I sent the postcards instead but the address was wrong.

Gong-chan is in mission to find his long lost cousin, who he hasn't met, to fulfill his promise to his sick grandfather. During his business trip in Jeju Island, he met Yoo-rin by accident and was temporarily hired to be an interpreter for his international business deals. Since Yoo-rin is on the run because of his father's wrongdoings, she stayed at Gong-chan's vacation house without his consent. She even used the resources to pay for her father's plane ticket to get out of Seoul. When found out, she was forgiven in the condition that she would pretend to be his cousin for the meantime. Surprisingly, his grandfather's health got better when Yoo-rin came into their lives.

But who would have thought that living together and sharing a lie could draw two strangers closer? As they carry on pretending, Yoo-rin started to fall for Gong-chan but has to ignore it because of their situation. When Sae-hyun, Gong-chan's girlfriend, came back to Korea, Yoo-rin realized her stance in Gong-chan's heart.

Although bestfriends, Jeong-woo's personality is very much different with that of Gong-chan's. He always gets into trouble especially when it comes to girls and work. But when he met Yoo-rin, his perspective changed. Thinking that she is Gong-chan's cousin, he showed extra care and concern. But eventhough his feelings are sincere, Yoo-rin can't seem to return his love. His chance got slimmer when he learned that she is not the cousin they were looking for and that she has secretly fallen for Gong-chan. Despite the lies, he never left Yoo-rin.

Seeing Jeong-woo and Yoo-rin together has made Gong-chan appreciate Yoo-rin's worth. He left Sae-hyun for her new love. Devastated of what happened, Sae-hyun confessed to Gong-chan's grandfather what she knows about Yoo-rin's identity . Although he loves Yoo-rin so much, he still decided to send her away without his grandson's approval and made to promise not to return.

Gong-chan's years of waiting came to an end when fate has brought them back together. Determined to win her over, he disobeyed his grandfather. Because Yoo-rin doesn't want to make things worst, she made up more lies to push away Gong-chan. But nobody believed her but instead, they were moved by her actions. With this, Gong-chan and Yoo-rin were finally given the blessings to be together. And to top it all, they found the real cousin.


This series is so hilarious. I didn't even realize that I was smiling all throughout because I was so preoccupied with Lee Dong-wook's good looks and Lee Da Hae's talent. Actually, it reminds me of Full House. The more they fight, the more they look good on-screen.

There are definitely a lot of funny moments. What I like the most is the story telling by Yoo-rin's friends on how Korean movies work. Come to think of it. Everything they said really happens in almost every Korean movies or series. And with Yoo-rin and Gong-chan's dramatization, it made it even funnier.

I can't seem to stop laughing during their dream sequences. There were two which really made me cry from laughing too hard - the hospital scene when Yoo-rin is running away from the bad guys and the impersonation of some well-known spies.

There maybe some drama, but still, they managed to put in some cute scenes to make it balance. It's like a rollercoaster of emotions which I really appreciate. It won't make you feel down all throughout.

Da-hae could definitely pass as Kim Sun-ah's successor. I won't be surprised if she could even top Sun-ah's performance in due time. She may be young and has a lot more to learn, but she definitely has talent as a comedienne. She's got good facial expression and the delivery looks so natural. Watch out for the Mini Kim Samsoon! As for the rest of the gang, they all gave a nice performances especially Dong-wook. It wasn't that easy portraying drama and humor in one character. Joon-ki did okay as the third wheel but sometimes, it looks weird seeing him do fight scenes and yet, he looks like a girl… a good looking Korean girl, that is. With Sae-hyun, she wasn't that bad as a beginner.

Just when you thought you are done with the good stuff, think again. On it's last part, they managed to bring in a surprising ending. Curious? You got to see it for yourself!

Out of the topic: I'm so proud to hear them mention my beloved country, the Philippines, more than once.


An 'Irresistible Trickster' To Meet Viewers In 'My Girl' KOREAN HERALD [ 12.12.2005 ]

Another "sassy" girl is to meet TV audiences every Wednesday and Thursday nights beginning this week, as director Jeon Ki-sang unfolds his jovial imagination in a new SBS drama "My Girl". As a "professional" trickster, this new heroine is promised to be cheekier and sassier than the last. Through the KBS drama "Sassy Girl, Chun-hyang", which ended with overwhelming success in March, director Jeon has already proven his talent in producing romantic comedies with a "different" type of heroine. Director Jeon's motto is to produce a drama that he himself can "laugh his head off" while watching. "It's not like I have an exceptional philosophy about drama-making. I just want people to have a good laugh, and realize in between the laughs that life is actually quite joyful", Jun told reporters in a news conference last week. In the previous drama, Jun recreated the loyal woman Seong Chun-hyang from a well-known Korean classic "Chung-hyang jeon (Chun-hyang's story), into a headstrong sassy girl, receiving an enthusiastic response from females in their teens and early 20s. This time, the heroine Ju Yoo-rin, played by actress Lee Da-hae, is a cheeky con-artist who learns from her troublesome father that ripping people off is the easiest way to make a living. But meaning no harm by her "little" lies, Yoo-rin is an irresistible character who never loses the sense of humor and optimism despite the bitterness of life. "It seems that all female characters are standardized in TV dramas, and thus, I try to create a new character that viewers have never come across before", said Jun.

'ERIC'S GIRL' PARK SI-YEON MAKES A LEAP TO ACTING KOREAN HERALD [12.13.2005]

As the sweetheart of heartthrob actor Moon Jung-hyuk - better known as pop group Shinhwa's handsome rapper Eric Moon - actress Park Si-yeon is widely dubbed "Eric's girl". But the 26-year-old actress now vows to be recognized on her own merits, taking her first leap into acting. Immediately after Eric's love story was disclosed to the public earlier this year, Park has been at the center of attention. Her glamor and beauty had people taking more interest, but Park said that such fame had caused her great discomfort. "Behind the full make-up and costume, I am actually a very shy person. I don't enjoy being at the center of attention, especially if it's attention earned from being someone's girlfriend", said Park at last week's news conference for the SBS new drama "My Girl". Through this new drama, which will be aired beginning tomorrow, Park will make her first appearance in a TV drama here and be given the chance to prove her acting skills to viewers. "Love and career are two separate things. I feel bad about the fact that people do not see me as an actress but only as the girlfriend of a popular celebrity", she said. "But I have realized that getting all worked up over the current situation won't solve any problems and thus, have been focusing only on developing my acting skills". With hidden dreams toward acting, Park chose to major in journalism at Long Island University in 1998, thinking that it would help her in learning the TV world better. GONG-CHAN: I'll treat it as being lied to. I want to leave for the time being and stop giving her anymore pains. My love is not a lie. I've always thought that I've lost to a woman called Ju Yoo Rin. But I actually lost to love.

Young-jae manages to always end up bad in the news. He gets into trouble even if he tries to be on low profile. On his way to Japan to film his newest project, he met Ji-eun whom he got irritated with because of her being too bubbly.

Ji-eun was on vacation planned by her friends. What she doesn't know is that everything promised to her were all lies. They made her believe that she won the trip from a promotion and it would be all expense paid. When she got to the hotel, the problem started. There's no reservation under her name. It's a good thing Min-hyuk, Young-jae's friend, was there to help her work things out. When she ran out of money, she asked for Young-jae's help who, coincidentally, is staying in the same hotel she is. He let her borrow money thinking that she personally knows Min-hyuk.

Ji-eun's bad luck continues when she saw her house empty. She thought she was robbed. But the truth is, her friends gave her the trip so they could sell the house while she is gone. And to make things worst, Young-jae was the one who bought the house. She didn't want to give it up because it's the only memory she has of her dad. Besides, it wasn't her fault. To compromise, Young-jae allowed her to stay as long as she'll agree to be his housekeeper until she could pay the house back from her salary.

Min-hyuk is back to Korea to manage an advertising company. Young-jae got threatened because he knows that the attention of Hye-won's, which he has a secret love on, would all be on Min-hyuk. As much as he wanted to profess his feelings to her, he can't seem to find the courage. When the perfect time came and things are all planned, something came up… Min-hyuk. News on Young-jae's attempt of proposing got out and the press is curious in the woman's identity.

During a function, Hye-won revealed her love to Min-hyuk but got turned down. He told her to pay more attention on Young-jae. Hye-won confronted Young-jae but he denied his feelings and instead, pretended that he is in love with Ji-eun, who by the way crashed the party.

The news of Young-jae and Ji-eun getting engaged became the latest controversy. Since he couldn't retract what he said, they had a contract marriage. If in six months, they could pull it through, he would give back the house as long as nobody would know about the mess they got into. Since Ji-eun really cares about the house, she agreed.

Ji-eun applied for a job as a screenplay writer at Min-hyuk's company. At first, she wasn't doing any good but Min-hyuk supported her. As he teaches her the ins and outs of the industry, he started to get attached to her. Although what Ji-eun feels for Min-hyuk is strictly professional, Hye-won still gets upset. On the other hand, Young-jae continues to show his affection to Hye-won. The public got alarmed that he is two timing Ji-eun. To save his reputation, his manager told Hye-won to stop seeing Young-jae.

As Ji-eun and Min-hyuk gets closer, Young-jae started to realize that he is falling for Ji-eun. In fear that he would be rejected, he hid his feelings. What he doesn't know, Ji-eun is feeling the same way too. But she was disheartened when she found out that the woman Young-jae was supposed to propose to was Hye-won. From then on, she distant herself to avoid misconceptions.

The hearsay about Young-jae and Ji-eun breaking up was all over the news. Young-jae decided to end their made-up marriage to protect Ji-eun from more painful attacks. He doesn't want people to see her differently so he had a conference. The news hurt his career and reputation so bad but he didn't care. What matters most is that he was able to clear Ji-eun's name. After the revelation, he laid low. Nobody knows where he went except for his assistant.

His assistant pretended that Ji-eun was very ill so Young-jae could go back to the city. Since he really cares about her, he went home. Seeing that during his absence, a stronger relationship was developed between Ji-eun and Min-hyuk, he got paranoid. He acted as if they are together and became overprotective of Ji-eun. But everything got more complicated when Min-hyuk accidentally found out about the contract marriage. He now has a bigger shot in winning Ji-eun's heart.

While Young-jae is trying to win back Ji-eun, Hye-won gets attracted to him. But no matter how hard she gets in between them, he can't take Ji-eun out of the picture.

Young-jae continued showing his affection to Ji-eun. He prepared love schemes so she would be impressed. Unfortunately, none worked until he learned that the best way to her heart is sincerity and honesty. Now, they don't need any contract to be together because what they have is the real thing.

Ji-eun's screenplay was made into a movie. Young-jae starred on it for his comeback.




KOREANCRAZEE: What I like about his drama is the onscreen chemistry between Bi and Song Hye Kyo. They both have charisma. Just the smile alone could blow your heart away. Their facial expressions and acting makes it worth watching for. When they portray their roles, they act like kids playing house. It seems natural. When they fight, they look even cuter. I like the way they complement each other's personalities.

Full House is definitely a feel good movie. This would make you fall in love. If there is one series that I would want to see over and over, this would be it. This series have it all - laughter, romance and drama. I can't seem to have enough it. Some may not like it because of too much redundacy in their fights but for me, every scene is entertaining. I get to love Korean series more because of this.

The OST has contributed in this series' success. The "I Think I Love You" and "First Time in this Seat" tracks echoe in my mind and when it plays, all I can say is, awwwww...

Aza Aza Fighting!

JOE: I love this show! First off... The casting was done flawless. Yes, flawless. From Song Hye-kyo as Ji-eun to Kim Sung-soo as Min-hyuk to the one everybody loves to hate: Han Eun-jeong as the notorious Hye-won! *everything go's black and red lights glimmer on the picture of Hye-won's evil laugh* Oh, but let's not forget the reason why every female in Korea watches this program: BI as Young-jae!! It also has a awesome OST. (You know, the OST that ALWAYS gets stuck in your head, but you still love it?) It's worth watching again over and over and over and over... and over. ;P

HEE-UN: Yes, I finally got around to watching this drama. I really enjoyed this drama. It was so refreshing to see Rain in a comedy. He did really well. I am very impressed with him as an actor. And Song Hye-Kyo was good too. There is something really adorable about her. They made a good comedy/drama team. While the storyline of this drama wasn't really anything too different it was fun to watch how their relationship developed through the series. The only thing I wasn't too thrilled about was the supporting characters. Don't get me wrong, Yoo Min Hyuk was very good looking, possibly better looking than Rain in this drama, but I thought both supporting characters were just kind of dull, nothing special.



One of the most popular TV miniseries released this summer in Korea was Full House, based on a popular comic book series. This fun miniseries shows us the difficulties that occur while living together, as well as the funny side of life. From the onset, Full House has been praised for its fresh and saucy take on the love lives of four young people. Within the first three weeks of airing, audiences responded with a 30% increase in viewership. Most of the miniseries is set in a beachfront house in Incheon. The KBS series "Full House" has exploded in popularity since it premiered in Thailand June 25 on Channel 7, which is running the series every Saturday and Sunday morning. The Korea Thailand Communication Center, a firm specializing in Thai tourism and market research, reported on July 27 that "Full House" recorded a market share of 56 percent on July 16 and 63 percent on July 17.

The KBS TV2 drama "Full House," starring Rain and Song Hye-kyo, has recorded the highest viewer ratings in the Philippines among all Asian television dramas that have been shown in that country since 2003. The Filipino ratings survey agency "AGB Philippines" said "Full House" recorded an average daily rating of 42.3 percent.

"Full House" aired in the Philippines from February to April on GMA, Philippines' ground-wave broadcaster, recording a rating of 30.2 percent for the first episode and reaching 50.5 percent on April 17. According to AGB Philippines, seven Korean television dramas have made it onto the list of top-10 Asian dramas shown in the country so far (including re-runs).

Tae-min's plan of killing Hyun-woo failed but instead, the trauma brought back Hyun-woo's memories. He returned to his family wondering what might have happened to him during the entire year he was gone.

When Eun-soo went to Seoul, she stayed at her friend's, Jang-mi, who turned out to be an employee of Hyun-woo. She met him and was devastated when he didn't recognize her despite of what they've been through. When she found out the reason behind the denial, she tried to understand.

Tae-min helped Eun-soo get a job in the company, which made Soo-jin threatened of her presence. She thought that, ever since she came in to the picture, Hyun-woo seems to be stepping back on her. Her instinct of him falling for Eun-soo became more evident when Hyun-woo thought that Eun-soo is his soulmate.

Eventhough everyone is against their relationship, Hyun-woo and Eun-soo agreed to fight until the end. But when Hyun-woo encountered company problems secretly initiated by Tae-min, Soo-jin took advantage of Hyun-woo's financial and emotional despair. Not wanting to be a burden, Eun-soo left him.

Hyun-woo was about to get engaged to Soo-jin when he regained his memory of Eun-soo. He went back to the place where their love started, Dreaming Forest, hoping that she'll accept him. Since she really never stopped loving him, they decided to rekindle the relationship they once shared.

After being rejected by Eun-soo and losing his job, Tae-min felt like the world turned it's back on him. He was distressed enough to kill the cause of his downfall, Hyun-woo. In spite of everything, Eun-soo didn't give up on Tae-min. On her way to talk him out of it, Tae-min accidentally ran into her thinking that she was Hyun-woo. Tae-min felt responsible for Eun-soo's paralysis. He turned himself in as she wished.

Eun-soo didn't want Hyun-woo to feel sorry for her so she ran away and became an art teacher. When their facility was coincidentally picked to become part of Soo-jin's exhibit for charity, Hyun-woo saw a painting resembling the Dreaming Forest, which led him to where Eun-soo is.




It was one of the good dramas there is. It started off interesting and as the story continues to unfold, it became more exciting to watch. From the beginning until the end, the story is enticingly good.

I love the transition of the story. Eventhough it is just another amnesia-rich-boy-meets-poor-girl story, it wasn't boring to watch. Maybe because Ji-sung and Eugene did good in their acting. They could get away from being serious to being a teaser. I love it when they get into their childish sides. Soo-yeong wasn't bad either. His facial expression is just right for his devilish character.

Ji-sung's and Eugene's characters look nice together. They have this connection that makes their chemistry work.

The OST alone speaks for its success.

There is just one question I have in mind. If a person lost his memory, wouldn't you help him to find his identity like going to the police or placing an ad that you found that person? Why wait until the memory comes back? What if it doesn't? I bet there would be atleast one person in a million that can recognize him, right?

In totality, if you want a drama that is not draggy and too dramatic, this is your choice.




SOO-JIN: If you have someone that you've loved for 8 years, it would be hard to forget. Don't you agree? If I met you first, things would have been different. But the first one I met is Hyun-woo, not you.
TAE-MIN: Hyun-woo is dead. No matter what you do, he won't come back! I won't promise for things I can't do. And I won't let you wait. I can give you time but if you still find you can't accept me, I won't wait for you any longer.
